Central Florida PUG Photo Shoot

Last night the Central Florida PUG (Pictage Users Group) held their meeting/photo shoot at the Maitland Arts Center.  We were thrilled when (with 2 days to plan!) we were asked to provide tablescapes for the shoot (yikes!).  Armed with a storyboard from the lead photographer that depicted a Shabby Chic/French Country feel, we set out to create three distinctly different tables plus altar area decor for the members to photograph.

We chose to lean more towards the French Country feel, with elegant linens, candlelight and decor items that invoked a distinctly French feel.  The stunning venue was comprised of indoor and outdoor spaces, each with unique architectural elements.   We chose to utilize two of the outdoor “rooms” to place two of our tables and to do setup (due to impending Florida thunderstorms!).

The photos we’re posting here are pictures we took with our camera (we were too excited to wait!).  We’re looking forward to seeing the professional images that the talented photographers attending the shoot took!

Just as we were heading back to the office for a bit after finishing our setup, the storms started moving in!

Fortunately, the rain stopped just before the photo shoot began and we were able to move our sweetheart table out into the grassy area.

We wanted to do something different with our chair sashes, and LOVE what we came up with for these chairs!  We had both silver and pink sashes left over, so we used one of each to create this unique look.

We thought these signs created by Dogwood Blossom Stationery were just the cutest accent pieces!

The walls in this outdoor “room” were  full of artwork in the form of stone mosaics.  It was beautiful during the daylight hours.

But once darkness started to fall, we lit the candles and Elegant Entertainment added uplights, the room took on a completely different (and stunning) look!

The other outdoor “room” was just as beautiful, but the mosaics on the walls were all monochromatic.  We placed the round table so that when you looked into the room, the mosaic provided a stunning backdrop.

We chose black chiavari chairs to use with this table so the pale pink sash treatments would pop.  We loved the contrast between the French Country dinnerware and the elegance of the Belmont silver ball chargers.

Beautiful uplights accented the altar/ceremony area.  We loved the way the light bounced off of the clear chiavari chairs and pink tulle sashes.  The view from our reception table as darkness was setting in was just stunning.

Our friends at Carly Ane’s Florals provided the cake suspension system.  While our photo doesn’t show it, the cake was positioned at the end of a long walkway.  At the entrance to the walkway was a decorative wrought iron gate.  At the end, behind the cake, was a “window” opening that overlooked yet another courtyard.

Another view of the altar/ceremony location.  It’s simply beautiful there.  If you are in Central Florida, or come to visit, a stop by Maitland Arts Center is worth the trip.  If you are looking for a unique venue for your wedding or special event, stop by and take a look.

Agreed – Chiavari chairs are always an elegant touch. This chair detail was a last minute “let’s try something different” approach to a styled shoot we were asked to design. Being on set, we only had what was provided by the linen vendor to work with. I personally loved the look and as you said, if the difference between the two sides of the material bothers you, use a polyester sash. 🙂 Thanks for including us in your favorites!
